DIAGNOSTIC TECHNOLOGY
Diagnostic Technology
At Forward Equine, we have digital diagnostic technology available at every appointment, helping us diagnose with speed and precision.
Equinosis
Precision in Motion
We utilize the Equinosis Q, a real-time diagnostic tool that helps us accurately identify the source of lameness. Powered by over 20 years of gait analysis research, the “Q” uses three strategically placed sensors on your horse to track even the smallest changes in movement, often imperceptible to the human eye. Once the sensors are in place, we record data as your horse moves at the trot.
Early Detection and Long-Term Care
We regularly employ the Equinosis system during follow-up exams to monitor your horse’s progress after a lameness diagnosis. This technology allows us to detect even minor gait abnormalities, ensuring small issues are addressed before they become serious or season-ending problems. Additionally, we track changes in your horse’s gait from one season to the next, helping to keep your horse sound, comfortable, and performing at their best year after year.
Digital Radiography
With digital radiology, we can view your horse’s X-ray images immediately. Unlike traditional film X-rays, which require multiple attempts to adjust settings, digital images can be fine-tuned for contrast directly on the computer. We deliver fast, high quality diagnostic results.
Digital Ultrasound
Our digital ultrasound technology allows us to capture clear images and videos of soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments. This tool is invaluable for tracking how these structures heal over time. In addition, advanced procedures—such as treating the sacroiliac joint or cervical facets—often require ultrasound guidance, and we are fully equipped to perform these treatments on-site at your facility with our mobile digital equipment.
Gastroscopy
At Forward Equine, we are excited to offer gastroscopy, the only method for diagnosing stomach ulcers in your horse.
